The Haight Ashbury
Flower Power Walking Tour is your backstage pass to the coolest area in the
universe! Stroll through the cosmic history of it all, from rock’n roll to
art, fashion and architecture, this fantastic walking adventure gives you
real insight into the cosmic draw of the Haight-Ashbury!
The tour is
approximately 60% hippy history and 40% general neighborhood history and
architecture, but it’s always 100% ‘far-out’ fun! Saunter along the same
streets that Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell
and countless others etched their marks into the collective alternative
culture and creativity of the 20th century!
We cover
approximately 12 blocks with our final destination 2 blocks from the point of
origin. A poetic and symbolic act of retracing the footsteps of so many,
returning with greater understanding and heightened consciousness.
Join us every Tuesday
and Saturday at 10:30 am,
or, if you prefer to sleep later, Thursday at 2:00 pm or Friday at 11:00 am!
$20 per person, except kids age 9 and under are free.
Advance purchase is
strongly recommended, as tours often sell out quickly. Walkups are welcome
– but a bit of a gamble!

Public transit from Market St. islands to corner of Stanyan & Waller Streets: Take #6 bus to Stanyan & Parnassus and walk 3 blocks down; OR "N Judah" lightrail to Stanyan
& Carl and walk 2 blocks down; OR #71 bus to Stanyan & Waller and cross Stanyan. The tour begins on Waller between The Stanyan Park Hotel and McDonald’s parking lot.
Groups of 20 or more
receive a 20% discount when booked and paid at least one week in advance.
Tours for 6 or more persons (or $120 minimum) are available
upon request; dates and times
can be customized.
